Standon Called

Hello,

So there we go. Standon Calling all over for another year. As ever, a really big thank you to everyone who took part in our show this year, The Guilt Façade, we had an absolute blast doing it and hope it added to your no-doubt already-wonderful festival experience. An equally big thank you to Jon and everyone on the Standon crew; they did an exceptional job, and were great fun to be around.

For those of you who missed it, well, unlucky for you – head on over to the The Guilt Façade, portfolio page and have a look at some videos and pictures, and a full description of the event. We went big this year – five times the size of last year – and it was an amazing ride.

Whenever we sit down to plan a one-off event like this, we always have to confront the question of human beings – loads of them – all coming together to have an upside-down, inside-out, carnival of misrule kind of fun time, for just a few short hours.

There’s always a worry that there’ll be so much going on, and people will be trying to pack so much into their Standon Calling experience, that they just might not have time for something as involved as we had planned. This year, though, our persistence and belief that the Standon Calling crowd is unlike any other really paid off. Those Bingham’s were flying – we never did get to find out who got the most. Drop us a line and let us know how many you collected. To everyone who sought us out to say that they’d enjoyed The Guilt Façade, thanks very much – you made our day.

One more thing: there’s loads of stuff coming up. The Radio S-HAC is nearly ready to go, the Tent is hitting the road in October, and we have a stuffed ox-worth of ideas to cram into both of them. Please get in touch if you’ve got any thoughts about our recent work, or pictures to send us. It’s a pleasure to hear from anyone since Bingham stopped writing…

All the best,

Mat
