London 2012 Olympics

‘Brazil’ Opening & Closing Parties

27th July & – 12th August 2012

The Hospital Club, Covent Garden

Covent Garden’s Hopsital Club chose to celebrate the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics with two multi-storey parties for their members and guests. The Heritage Arts Company was commissioned to add an experiential twist, taking Olympic Heroes as the inspiration for the first party and Terry Gilliam’s seminal film Brazil for the second. Featuring bespoke films created by director James Thompson of TwoPlusTu, lavish installations by Aurélien Farjon, and a host of actors, we entertained and baffled in equal measure throughout August.

“Bad sportsmanship. A ruthless minority of people seem to have forgotten good old-fashioned virtues. They just can’t stand seeing the other fellow win. If these people would just play the game…”

Played by Peter Vaughn, Terry Gilliam's Brazil
