Ron Arad’s

Curtain Call

Roundhouse
August 2011

As part of Bloomberg Summer at the Roundhouse, internationally renowned artist, architect and designer, Ron Arad responded to the Roundhouse’s spectacular Main Space by creating a curtain made of 5,600 silicon rods, suspended from an 18 metre diameter ring – a canvas for films, live performance and audience interaction.

Each day, audiences saw work by many renowned international artists, whilst the Curtain hosted live events with Cats Eyes, The London Contemporary Orchestra, Jonathan Safran Foer, EYESONTHEWALL video collective, Innervisions, BlainSouthern Gallery, and a range of young producers of circus, poetry and music.

Heritage Arts’ Tim Wilson was Creative Producer for the Roundhouse for this major summer installation, providing services to the Roundhouse for six months during the crucial stage of planning, commissioning, budgeting and delivery.

“Tim was the creative producer on our major Ron Arad ‘Curtain Call’ project working with over 12 high level artists and with Ron directly. Both the Roundhouse organisation and all the artists regarded Tim very highly indeed. I would have no hesitation in hiring Tim again.”
