Mother Red Cap

Sequestering an individual stable at Camden’s Proud Galleries, the Heritage Arts Company encountered those who intentionally (or accidentally) stumbled into our red-draped candle-lit den. Meeting face to face with a storyteller, individual visitors heard and felt a regenerated tale of “Mother Red Cap,” the folkloric witch for whom the nearby pub – now The World’s End – was supposedly named. A story driven by paranoia and fuelled by blood, “Mother Red Cap”, along with a drop of red wine and the smell of sweat, gets into the body of the listener, showcasing the durability of community folk legends, even on a busy 21st century night in London’s heart. Fun, fearful, and free.
